List Nook is a small, private website where a family shares wish lists and plans gifts. This page explains, in plain words, what information the site keeps and how it is used. We do not sell your information, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers.

What the site keeps

Cookies and similar storage

The site uses only a few small cookies and browser storage items that it needs to work: one that keeps you signed in, one that remembers light or dark mode, and one that remembers when you last looked at recent activity. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

How information is used

Who can see it

Only people who have been invited, or who have a family password, can sign in. Each person only sees the families and calendars they have been given access to. The site administrator can see and manage everything on the site, and keeps backups of the site's data.

Third parties

We do not share your information with anyone else, and we do not sell it.

Keeping and deleting information

Information stays on the site until it is removed. You can edit or delete your own list items. To remove your account, a person, or any other information, ask the site administrator, who can delete it. Deleted items may remain in recent backups for a short time.

Children

Parents and guardians can have lists for their children, and these are managed by an adult. The site does not knowingly collect information directly from children.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed, sign-ins are protected against repeated guessing, and the site is served over an encrypted connection. No website can be perfectly secure, so please choose a strong password and do not share it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated.

Questions

If you have any questions about your information or want something removed, please contact the person who invited you to the site. They run it and can help.
